Starting – Wednesday, June 16 @ 6pm-7pm - The Puppy Kindergarten Class is designed to introduce your puppy to as much as we can in 5 weeks! We work on controlled walking on the leash, sit, stand and down positions with an introduction to stay, lots of work on recalls; dominance and socialization skills. All of this in a controlled, safe and fun environment for your new puppy.
Puppies must be between 10-24 weeks of age and show proof of 2nd set of vaccinations.
5 weeks – once a week for one hour - $100.00

NOVICE BEGINNER - Instructed by Kim Zippel

Offered to any dog over 6 months of age.
The Novice program is designed to help people train their dogs in a distracting environment, thus giving you the
opportunity to train where it is needed most, around distractions. All of the basic commands are worked on: heel,
sit and down stay, stand for examination and recall. Distractions in the class are evident with the other dogs and this allows the dog to get the training he needs in a structured environment. With help from the instructor and a
whole lot of consistent practice from you, your dog will be a pleasure to take anywhere.
Check back for start dates or call 403-949-2963 and ask to be put on waiting list for next class.

NOVICE ADVANCED CLASS - Instructed by Kim Zippel

Offered to dogs past the novice level. All dogs must have excellent social skills and a novice level of on leash healing and stays. Get ready to challenge your already obedient dog. Distraction work galore, just when you think you have a good dog, you can make him outstanding!!
Check back for start dates or call 403-949-2963 and ask to be put on waiting list for next class.

Kim’s dog training background began in 1986 when she took her first dog, a Siberian husky to obedience school. Well, anyone that knows the breed knows that she was in obedience school for a very looonggg time. All kidding aside, she loved the breed so much, she aquired another one!!! The obedience instructor and Kim spent a lot of time together. Eventually, she started a business and personal relationship with her obedience instructor, and Booshay’s Training Academy became a full time operation.

My partner at the time introduced me to the Rottweiler breed in 1987 when he added a Rottweiler to our home. In 1989, I invited “Willya”, an 8 week old rottweiler to become my first competitive obedience dog. She taught me so much about training, but most important, she taught me how much I LOVED training!! In 1991 she was the #1 Rottweiler in Canada in obedience trials, and the #2 Working Dog. Willya also earned her Canadian Championship, a TDX, and a SchII.

To put it mildly, I was hooked on dog training in all aspects. Over the past 20 years, I have taught Puppy, Novice, Open and Utility Classes. I have done group classes and private training as well. Private training involves you, me and your dog, not just me and your dog…you have to be involved as well!!

I really enjoy teaching, but most of all, I enjoy watching a dog become the kind of dog you are hoping for. Well mannered, full of character, and willing to please dogs are a true joy to have around. When I can help someone accomplish this, it makes me feel great!!

Today, I enjoy training my first Male Rottweiler, Barlowe. He is an absolute joy to train. He loves to work with me and most of all, he loves a good bum rub!!

Also, I am currently training my Giant Schnauzer, Twist. She is teaching me so much as a trainer and keeps me on my toes. She is full of herself and when the day is over, she loves nothing else but to be laying close to me with some part of her touching me!!
